FX & Travel ☞ EUR/USD 💶💵 rate was 1.175 on October 13th, plus was 1.119 at the start of the year. On October 22nd the EUR/USD rate was at 1.186 not far from 1.20.

In latest update, the economies of Italy and Spain showed a rebound in some areas, whereas the consumption is still lagging. Both countries have seen slowdown in tourism which has greatly affected the GDP. The share of the GDP for tourism is particularly large in Spain. In fact, it is one of the highest in the world. At the same time, many try to find ways to travel domestically if foreign visitors do not come in the same numbers. For example, for some cities in Spain the visitors numbers are few times more than the population of the cities on yearly basis. In this environment domestic tourism played a substantial role. GDP growth rate was down about 21.5% annualized in Spain in Q2 of this year. In Italy the decline was 18% year over year during that time. The second quarter was one of the weakest quarters in years for these economies. The unemployment currently stands at 9.8% in Italy and 15.33% in Spain.
