What is tomato? 🍅 Is it a fruit or vegetable? When we go to the grocery store we say we will buy vegetables as tomato. But is tomato vegetable? Tomato is actually botanically a fruit. But the most interesting fact comes from how some of the states in the United States classify tomato. As example, in some instances historically the State of New Jersey considered tomatoes as vegetable, while the state of Oho considers tomatoes as  fruit. What about the state of Arkansas? The state look at tomatoes as both vegetable and fruits over time.

Spain was the first country to bring tomatoes to European population around 15th century.

Guess where is tomato’s country of origin? Tomato is from South America. Spain were the first country to bring tomatoes to European population around 15th century. Spain as well as many Mediterranean countries have tomatoes as an important ingredient in many recipes. In grocery store there may varieties of tomatoes as beefsteak tomatoes, plum tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes and many others including yellow, red, purples and other, but the actual variety of fruits come to about 10,000 of types of juicy delicious tomatoes. Some estimates put the number higher or lower but within many thousands anyway.
